Jack L. Jarvis

Jack Lee Jarvis, 63, of Central, W.Va., passed Feb. 7, 2014, at home after a short battle with cancer.

Jack was born Oct. 23, 1950, in Parkersburg, the son of the late Hartsell and Avenell Kesterson Jarvis.

He served in the United States Air Force from 1969 through 1975 and was a Vietnam Veteran. He was a member of the VFW Post #8127 and participated in local military functions. Jack worked for Allegheny Power for over 20 years. He enjoyed spending time with family and his many friends and will be deeply missed.

Jack is survived by two sons, David Wayne (Nicole) of Michigan and Greg of Central; one daughter, Tracy of Vienna; one granddaughter, Gretchen of Michigan; five brothers, Gary (Sharon) of Vienna, Wayne (Janet) of Little Hocking, Ohio, Mike (Karen) of Winchester, Va., Bill (Gaye) of Parkersburg and Alan of Macon, Ga.; five sisters, Sandi Ragsdale (Giles) of Musella, Ga., Linda of Williamstown, Pam Jarvis (Brad) of Waverly, Betty Jarvis of Vienna, and Becky Anderson (Sam) of Williamstown; and several nieces and nephews.

Leavitt Funeral Home is assisting the family with private cremation services.
