Theodore ‘Ted’ J. Gibson

Theodore "Ted" Junior Gibson, 68, of Parkersburg, passed away Feb. 7, 2014, at his residence.

He was born Feb. 6, 1946, in Charleston, W.Va., a son of the late Theodore J. and Helen N. Honaker Gibson.

He was a mechanic and painter. He enjoyed working on cars, hunting, fishing and teaching his sons how to hunt and fish. He loved his grandchildren. He was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Rebecca M. Gibson; sons, T. J. and Gary Gibson; daughters, Cheryl Barker (Michael) and Edie and Heather Gibson, all of Parkersburg; grandchildren, Rusty, Jessalynn and Isabella Barker, Gabriel Gibson and Preston Saunders; sisters, Rose Gibson of Cleveland, Ohio, and Esther Page of Charleston, W.Va.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Kayla Noel Gibson; three brothers, Bob, Gene and Gary Gibson; and a sister, Dorothy Gibson.

Services will be 3 p.m. Monday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with the Rev. Kenneth E. Fullerton officiating. Burial will be at Rockland Cemetery in Belpre. Visitation will be Monday from 11 a.m. until time of service.
