Thelma Lou George

Thelma Lou George, 77, of Belpre died at the Camden Clark Medical Center.

She was born in Belpre, Ohio on Nov. 6, 1936 and was the daughter of the late Oscar Noles and Helen Potter West. She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church and had worked for the Dunham East Election Board. Survivors include two sons, Earl D. George of Belpre, friend, Chris McGlumphy, Karl G. (Kathie) George of Belpre; two daughters, Myra L. (Steven) Pitts of Vienna, Lisa J. (Edsel) Lane of Belpre; six grandchildren, David Pitts (Megan), Stacy Pitts (friend, Josh Snyder), Suzanne Parsons (Eric), Rob George, Ryan Lane and Josh Wagner; two great grandchildren, Molly Pitts and Jaiden Pitts; a god daughter, Tonya Hash; and a sister, Lucia (Glenn) Everson of Pomeroy, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her husband Willis (Gene) George in 2010.

Services will be on Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Belpre with Reverend Dan Byron officiating. Burial will follow in the Rockland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 2- 4 and 6-8 p.m..
