Alice May Taylor, 66, of Parkersburg, passed away on Feb. 3, 2014, at Camden Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus.
She was born Oct. 24, 1947, in Kanawha County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Jesse and Birdie Norine McClanahan Knapp.
Alice was a graduate of Parkersburg High School with the class of 1965, and attended Mountain State College. She was co-owner of Harold's Refuse Removal, a member of Kiwanians, volunteered many years for West Virginia Interstate Fair and volunteered for Parkersburg Safety Town for 25 years. She enjoyed making baskets and collecting red birds. She was a Methodist by faith.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Harold A. Taylor; three sons, Harold A. "Junior" Taylor, Steve W. Taylor (Cindi) and Robert E. Taylor (Dustin), all of Parkersburg; one sister, Beverly Osbourne of Pinellas Park, Fla.; one brother, Ed Knapp (Cindy) of Parkersburg; and grandchildren, Jesse Taylor, Charley Mae Taylor, Kacie Taylor and Allie Taylor.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 6, at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike St., south Parkersburg, with Rev. Cindy Eakle officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Garden. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. today at the funeral home, and one hour prior to services on Thursday.
