Tonda Cunningham

Tonda S. Cunningham, 57, of Parkersburg, went to be with the Lord, Feb. 3, 2014, at Camden Clark Medical Center, St. Joseph's Campus.

She was born April 15, 1956, in Wood County, W.Va., a daughter of Donna McCrady Adkins of Parkersburg and the late William Mowery Sr.

She was a graduate of Parkersburg High School and attended Parkersburg Community College. She worked at St. Joseph's Hospital for 27 years working in the mental health dept., and as a staff technician in the emergency room. She enjoyed growing herbs, making candles, arts and crafts and collecting elephant figurines and salt and pepper shakers. She loved the outdoors, fishing and especially her pets. She was a free spirit who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her mother and step-father, Bob Adkins, Tonda is survived by her husband, Mitch Cunningham; brothers, William "Bill" Mowery of Parkersburg and Randy Mowery (Marion) of Elizabeth, W.Va.; sister, Cindy Mowery of Parkersburg; Julie Griffith, a friend who was like a sister; nieces, Alicia Nester (Jason) and Amanda Mowery (Buddy Roberts); great-nephews, Noah, Brady and Jett; several other nieces and nephews; and her mother-in-law, Patty Jean Cunningham. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Mowery.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 4-7 p.m. Friday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green St., Parkersburg.
