Joyce Gail Nelson Pecar, 64, Phoenix, Ariz. passed away Jan. 10, 2014, at her home, surrounded by her loving family after a long and courageous battle against cancer.
She was born Jan. 27, 1949, in West Hamlin, W.Va., the daughter of the late Elvie and Leona Brunty Nelson.
She was a 1967 graduate of Carthage Troy High School. She resided in Prescott and Phoenix, Arizona most of her life, but lived in Torch, Ohio the last several years, before returning to Phoenix to reside with her son, Michael in June 2013.
She was a full time homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother. She was a Protestant by faith.
Joyce is survived by her husband, Robert (Bobby) Pecar, daughter, Shawna Brabham (Chet), grandsons, Aaron, Brandon and Chester of Parkersburg, son Michael (Christine), grandson, Jaden of Phoenix; six brothers and sisters, Eyvonne (Larry) Driggs, Tuppers Plains, Priscilla (Steve) Holter, Coolville, Boyce Bud (Bert), her twin brother, Parkersburg, Jennings (Donna), Coolville, Lonnie (Linda), Williamstown, Pete (Wanda), Mineral Wells and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Following her request of cremation, memorial services will be held in Phoenix and also Saturday, January 25 at 1:30 p.m., at Fairview Chapel Brimstone Ridge, Coolville. George Horner will officiate the service.
