Helen L. Haddox

f Harrisville, passed away Jan. 18, 2014, at Pineview Continuous Care, in Harrisville.

She was born Dec. 7, 1924, in West Union, W.Va., a daughter of the late James A. Wilson and Ruby (Riggs) Wilson.

Mrs. Haddox was a Licensed Practical Nurse. She had worked several places including Calhoun General Hospital, Pineview Continuous Care, St. Joseph's Hospital, Hospice, and as a private duty caregiver. Helen was also a volunteer EMT for the Ritchie County Emergency Squad in the Seventies. She was a member of Mt. Pisgah Community Church where she served as secretary/treasurer and played the piano for services. She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Surviving are her children, Harry Ronald Haddox (Laurie) of Harrisville, Linda Diane Hall of Harrisville and Karen Lee Roche (Paul) of Harrisville; her siblings, Mary Esther Props of Mahone, Jean Moore of Harrisville, David Wilson (Judy) of Harrisville and Oleta Jane Wilson (Robert) of Parkersburg. She also leaves behind seven loving grandchildren, Frank Hall (Jackie), Teresa Smith (John), Paula Herndon (Kathy), Denny Herndon (Colleen), Justin Roche, Ronnie Haddox and James Haddox; 12 great-grandchildren, Joshua and Mariah Hall, Jonah and Jacob Smith, Elijah Herndon, Denny Herndon III, Hannah McNabb, Alex Herndon, Taylor Haddox, Mercedes Furr, Devin Haddox and Caden Haddox; and nine great-great-grandchildren, Denny Herndon IV, Hayden, Haddox, Destiny, Dylan, Hope, Noah, Adyn and Cilas Hall.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry H. Haddox in 1997; grandson, Dustin Smith; and siblings, Freda Lytle, William "Buster" Wilson, Betty Wilson and James H. "Butch" Wilson.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Raiguel Funeral Home, Harrisville, with the Rev. Jim Eakle officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Pisgah Cemetery near Pullman. Visitation will be today from 4-8 p.m.
