Angelores Gevas

Angelores Gevas, 91, passed away Jan. 14, 2014, at the Lindley Inn. She had been a resident of the Lindley Inn for the past 10 years.

Ann was born on July 4, 1922, in Yorkville, Ohio, graduated from Yorkville High School in 1940 and was the daughter of Pete and Sophia Savoglu Gevas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Doris Gevas and Aspasia Gevas Couladis; and a brother, Emmanuel Gevas.

Ann was a resident of Baltimore, Md., and Athens and The Plains, Ohio. She worked for Westinghouse Electric in Baltimore for more than 40 years as an accounting clerk in their Comptrollers Office. She was a member of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral (Columbus, Ohio). Her hobbies were traveling abroad to many countries, photography, cooking for family and she was an avid reader.

She is survived by a brother, Dr. George (Mary) Gevas of Parkersburg, W.Va.; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home in Athens with the Rev. Fr. Mark Elliott officiating. Interment will be at Athens Memory Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 5-8 p.m. There will be a Thrice Holy Hymn Service at the funeral home at 8 p.m. Thursday.
