Norman M. Ruble, 94, of Mineral Wells, W.Va., passed away Jan. 11, 2014.
He was born in Mineral Wells, W.Va., the son of the late David and Grace Mattics Ruble.
He was a graduate of Parkersburg High School and had served with the U.S. Army during World War II in the European Theatre. He was a member of the American Legion and a lifetime member of the V.F.W. He had retired from Borg Warner and was a 75-year member of the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Helen Roth Ruble of Mineral Wells; his sons, David Wayne Ruble (Gail) of Bowling Green, Ky., and James Norman Ruble (Vicki) of Mineral Wells; his son-in-law, Donald Ross; his grandchildren, Kristin Payton, Mystelle Ruble, Charla Ruble and Chad Ruble; his great-grandchildren, Zachary Payton, Carolyn Hooper, Jensen Ruble, Campbell Ruble and Ryann Ruble; his nephew, Dallas Stanley; and his niece, Mary Jane Gorrell. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Colleen Ross; one sister, Lena Stanely; and one nephew, Bernard Stanley.
Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg, with Rev. Kevin Lantz officiating. Interment will be in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery with full military graveside rites by Parkersburg American Legion Post #15. Visitation will be Thursday from 6-8 p.m.
