Wayne Jay Caplinger, 50, of Parkersburg, passed away Jan. 12, 2014, at his home.
He was born Sept. 30, 1963, at Martinez, Calif., a son of Betty Jean (West) of Parkersburg and the late Joseph Wayne Caplinger Sr.
Wayne enjoyed playing guitar, drinking beer and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
Surviving in addition to his mother is his wife of 28 years, Mable Mullins Caplinger; two sons, Benjamin Ward of Mineral Wells and Timothy Ward of Parkersburg; two daughters, Christie Caplinger of Parkersburg and Angela (Sam) Moore of Belleville; five grandchildren, Mike and Eddie Moore, Nevaeh Ward, Iziaha Ward and Cooper Ward; one great-grandaughter, Jozlynn Moore; five brothers, Joe (Linda) Caplinger Jr., Bobby (Janice) Midcap, Randy Midcap, Doug (Clara) Cottrell, all of Parkersburg, and Ed (Betty) Caplinger of Belpre; five sisters, Roxie Blackwell, Norma Jenkins, Tina (Terry) Starcher and Rana Cottrell, all of Parkersburg, and Connie (Steve) Prince of Braxton County; a brother-in-law, Wayne Collins of Parkersburg; and several nieces and nephews including a special nephew, Justin Caplinger. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Cindy Collins.
There will be a memorial dinner in honor of Wayne on Friday, Jan. 17, from 6-8 p.m., at the Pinewood Village Community Room.
