PARKERSBURG - Parkersburg South received mat slappers from Austin Harris and Tyler Windland and got key wins by T.J. Lambiotte and Tyler Newhart here Wednesday night inside Memorial Fieldhouse as the visiting Patriots topped rival Parkersburg, 31-25.
The Big Reds, who had split a pair of dual matches with the Patriots during the past 10 days, couldn't overcome a forfeit victory by Patriot 220-pounder Logan Dilliner, despite having a chance to win the dual on the final match.
However, that task was anything but easy for Big Red heavyweight Charley Conley, who put up a fight against top-ranked Thomas Hall before falling 5-0 to set the final score.

Parkersburg South's T.J. Lambiotte controls Parkersburg's Nick Johnson in their 132-pound match Wednesday during the two schools' annual crosstown dual match. Lambiotte scored the win as South defeated Parkersburg 31-25.
Things started well for the red and white as the hosts won the first three matches and jumped ahead 10-0. Jared Donahue scored a 9-0 major decision against Hunter Cline at 106 before No. 1 Austin Spears topped second-ranked Logan Ball, 9-3, at 113. A takedown on the edge of the mat with 9.5 ticks left handed Joey Butcher a 5-4 decision versus Patriot 120-pounder Jacob Roberts, who was making his first career varsity start filling in for an ill Colten Nangle.
Harris finally got PSHS on the board when he used just 71 seconds to pin Noah Farnsworth in the 126-pound match. Lambiotte led 3-2 midway through his 132-pound showdown with Nick Johnson, but the Patriot used an escape and a five-point move to build a 9-2 cushion heading into the final period. Lambiotte's 11-2 major decision tied the match at 10 apiece.
Windland led 12-1 in the third against Big Red 138-pounder Gage Graham and finished with the pin in 5:20. Parkersburg, which returns to action on Saturday at Brooke's quad, cut the deficit to 16-13 when Dylan Richards got an overtime takedown to secure a 6-4 decision at 145 against Hunter DeLong.

Parkersburg regained the lead at 19-16 after Trapper Hays' first period pin of Dylan Alexander at 152. Hays jumped out to a quick 8-0 advantage via a takedown and two sets of back points and then secured the mat slapper in 1:54.
The Big Reds' slight cushion didn't last long as Patriot 160-pounder Damon Gandee came out aggressive against Drew Murphy and grabbed the lead for good with a takedown just 15 seconds in. Following his 10-4 decision, the dual was knotted for the final time at 19-all with five matches remaining.
PHS fans enjoyed two more triumphs and the next came when 170-pounder Codie Barrows made his return to the red and white lineup after an absence. Barrows led all the way in his 7-5 victory against Matt Dixon, who trailed for good after allowing a takedown with 35 seconds to go in the opening period.
The 182-pound match was full of stalling points, but Shawn Graham used an escape with 75 seconds left in the match to go ahead 6-5 as he held off Patriot Justin Allman, 7-6.
Leading 25-19, PHS had things set up for fourth-ranked Max Chefren in his 195-pound battle against eighth-ranked Patriot Tyler Newhart. Chefren's pin of Newhart on Saturday sealed the Big Reds' first West Virginia Duals title, but things weren't nearly the same this time around. Following a scoreless first period, Newhart dominated the remainder of the match. He secured three near fall points in the second while on bottom and then got an escape and a takedown in the third for a yeoman 6-0 decision.
Newhart's decision made it 25-22 and Dilliner's forfeit triumph gave the Patriots the lead for good. Hall scored the only points he needed on a reversal in the second period.
Parkersburg South is scheduled to return to the mats next Thursday through Saturday in Wheeling at the Ohio Valley Athletic Conference tournament.
