PARKERSBURG - Wood County Schools has canceled all classes for Tuesday, citing dangerous temperatures and wind chill.
Mike Fling, assistant superintendent of school services, said forecasters are predicting more single-digit temperatures and strong winds for Tuesday morning. Officials fear students waiting on buses or even walking to school could be harmed.
Schools throughout the state and region were closed today due to morning snows and rapidly dropping temperatures. All middle school sports events and practices are canceled for this evening, and high school events are being decided on a case-by-case basis.
