Madilen Brown, 89, of Vincent, Ohio, died at the Appletree in Vincent, Ohio, on Jan. 2, 2014.
She was born in Castlewood, Va., on May 30, 1924 and was the daughter of the late James Ralph and Lillie Mae Elam Castle. She was a member of the Porterfield Baptist Church. She had worked for Yonker in Parkersburg, Holdren's Packing, Miller's Packing and Pride Packing. Her home and her children were her life.
Survivors include her son, Terry (Jill) Brown of Vincent; two daughters, Linda (John) Cornell of Belpre and Jeanette (Lee) Archer of Vincent. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Jeremy (Amanda) Brown, Jennifer (Brett) Boothe, Wayne (Sue) Cornell, Raina Cornell, Monica Archer, Greg (Katie) Archer; six great grandchildren, Jillian Brown, Grace Madilen Brown, Keller Brown, Parker Brown, Kylie Boothe, Orlena Cornell.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clarence "Brownie" Brown; four brothers and four sisters.
Services will be on Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Belpre with Ron Laughery officiatiing. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from noon to 2 p.m.
