Virginia C. Beeson, 96, of the Marietta Center, passed away on Dec. 15, 2013, at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
She was born May 25, 1917, in Weston, W.Va., a daughter of the late Edward T. W. Stewart and Edith Corda Hays Stewart.
She formerly worked at Moby's and Fashion Mart. She was a former member of the Rockport Farm Woman's Club. She enjoyed cooking and feeding her family and friends. She was a member of Prayer Chapel Church, where she was a Sunday School Teacher and Bible School Teacher.
She is survived by one daughter, Virginia L. Reesman (Charles) of Mineral Wells, W.Va.; two sons, Robert T. Beeson (Anna) of Elizabeth, W.Va., and Edward W. Beeson of Lubeck, W.Va.; one brother, Reed T. Stewart (Shirley) of Weston; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one nephew; and two nieces.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Beeson; and one brother, Forrest D. Stewart.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike Street, south Parkersburg, with Pastor Rod Blanchard officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
