Florence Lavorn Clark Reed, 83, went to be with the Lord Dec. 9, 2013, at Camden Clark Medical Center.
She was born in Parkersburg, W.Va. in 1930 to her parents Howard Clark and Ada Moore.
She attended and graduated from Sumner High School in 1949.
Florence worked for Mr. and Mrs. Herman Marshall and loved their son Daniel Marshall dearly. She retired from St. Joseph's Hospital after 22 years of employment. Florence loved to beautify her house giving, cooking, and traveling.
Florence and Charles Jackson Reed were married in 1962.
She is survived by her husband, Charles; sons, Howard Maupin of Washington, D.C., Jeffery C. Reed of Westland, Mich.; daughters, Diana Taylor of Severna Park, Md., Renee Keel of Columbus, Ohio; sister, Ada Turner of Parkersburg; grandchildren, Faith, Grace and Temperance Maupin of Silver Spring, Md.; Ruth and Matthew Baldwin of Washington, D.C., Ashli Taylor McClure of Md., Stephan, Ezra, Charity Taylor of Severna Park, Md., David Charles Anthony Williams of Columbus, Ohio, Jessica Keel of Orlando, Fla., Bria and Josiah Reed of Westland, Md.; daughter-in-law, Glory Maupin and Annette Reed. Florence had a host of friends and she was truly loved by many, especially her dear friend of more than 70 years, Ms. Anna Pearl Washington.
A going home service will be Saturday, Dec. 14 at 11 a.m. at Zion Baptist Church with Pastor Charles Graves officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 10-11 a.m. Burial will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery.
