Betty Lou Wiggins, 77, of Belpre, formerly of Malta, Ohio, passed away Nov. 25, 2013, at the Marietta Center in Marietta, Ohio.
She was born May 20, 1936, in Parkersburg, a daughter of the late Wesley H. and Louise Drennen Waybright.
Betty was retired from Brockway Glass of Vienna, W.Va., after 19 years. She worked at the St. Joseph's Hospital, assigned to the Newborn Nursery for 11 years, and worked as a volunteer for the Parkersburg Red Cross. Her memberships include, charter member of Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary, Unit #24, Malta, Ohio; Commander of DAVA, Unit #24; Ohio District 8 Commander; member of American Legion Post #15, Parkersburg; AERIE #2187, and F.O.E of McConnelsville, Ohio.
She is survived by two sons, Kenneth Silket, Jr., South Charleston, Ohio, and Richard R. Silket, Pittsburgh, Pa.; a daughter, Barbara Smith of Washington, W.Va.; long time companion, Jim R. Sprouse of Belpre; two granddaughters, April Coleman and Heather Mathess of Parkersburg; grandson, Craig Smith Jr. of Washington, W.Va.; and two great-grandchildren, Seth A. Mathess and Scarlet K. Mathess of Parkersburg. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one grandson, Phillip Silket; her grandparents, aunts and uncles.
Betty is a body and organ donor to the University of West Virginia, Morgantown, W.Va.
There will be no services.
