Rex A. Kinney

Rex A. Kinney, 76, of Boaz, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Nov. 25, 2013, at his residence.

He was born in Parkersburg, the son of the late George E. and Olive B. McAtee Kinney.

Mr. Kinney was a United States Air Force veteran serving 1955-1959 and retired July 2000 from Fenton Art Glass after 26 years of service. He loved boating, fishing, hunting, motorcycles, golfing, woodworking and reading. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, whom he married Dec. 24, 1955, Evelyn M. Keller Kinney; three daughters, Sherri (Conrad) Sterling of Parkersburg, Crystal (Jeff) Horner of Parkersburg, and Amy (John) Sutton of Virginia Beach, Va.; two sons, Rick (Teresa) Kinney of Clarksville, Tenn., and Phil (Gaila) Kinney of Florence, S.C.; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one niece, Tanda Gonzalez. In addition to his parents, Mr. Kinney was preceded in death by one sister, Sue Hoffman.

Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 29, at the Vaughan Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Pastor Jon Lands officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen North Cemetery, with full military rites by American Legion Post 15 of Parkersburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, 1 p.m. until the time of service on Friday.

The Vaughan Funeral Home and Crematory, 1010 Murdoch Avenue, Parkersburg, is assisting the family with arrangements.
