Velma Carol Hart, 85, died Nov. 22, 2013, at Fairfield Medical Center, Lancaster, Ohio.
She was born Nov. 13, 1928, in Macfarlan, W.Va., the daughter of Perry and Gladys (Fortney) Roberts.
She was a member of Winesburg Church of Christ and the Ritchie County Homemaker's Club.
Velma is survived by her daughters, Pam Sullivan, Jan (Jerry) Barnard and Rita (Andrew) Donelson; siblings, Adrian (Helen) Roberts, Paul (Kay) Roberts, Loyal (Lois) Roberts, Martha Jane Dye, Marie Givens and Marjorie Richard; sisters-in-law, Martha and Patricia Roberts; the lights of her life, her grandchildren, Mike (Molly) Sullivan, Holly (Catie) Sullivan, Heather (Jeff) Doty and Drew, Lloyd and Ashlie Donelson; and her great-grandchildren, Corrie, Samantha, Bode, Emma, Cooper, Hannah, Riley, Olivia and Karsyn. She is also survived by numerous extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles N. Hart (May 1996), whom she married Nov. 26, 1949; and siblings, Charles and Benjamin Roberts, Lovell Boughner, Geneva Hope and Margaret June Roberts, both in infancy.
The family wishes to thank Main Street Terrace, Fairfield Medical Center and Dr. Troy Edwards for the care and concern they all extended to Velma and her family.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. at Raiguel Funeral Home, 1200 East Main St., Harrisville, WV 26362. Funeral services will take place Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Graveside services will follow at Hartley Cemetery.
