Loretta Ellen Curfman, 88, of Parkersburg, passed away at the home of her niece, Penny Winter, in Ravenswood, on Nov. 22, 2013.
She was born Oct. 5, 1935, in Shinnston, W.Va., a daughter of the late Robert Lee and Opal Sims Drain.
Loretta had attended the Vienna church of God. She worked as a Health Care Giver and Housekeeper.
Surviving is her son, Zane Curfman, and her daughter, Tyla Shuman, both of Parkersburg; a God grandaughter, Loretta Ellen Opaza-Suclle in Peru; three brothers, Bobby (Dottie) Drain of Jane Lew, Danny (Karen) Drain and Mike (Pam) Drain, both of Shinnston; two sisters, Phyllis Helms and Jody (Norman) Tate, both of Shinnston; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Reverend Jack Curfman; her son-in-law, Timothy Shuman; a brother, Ronnie Drain; a sister, Jean Scritchfield; and special friend, Harold Guinn.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 5th Street, Parkersburg. Pastor Wesley Vernatter will officiate and burial will follow at Evergreen South Cemetery. The visitation will also be on Monday from noon until the time of the service.
