Iris P. McHenry, 87, of Lebanon, Tenn., formerly of Parkersburg, passed away Nov. 10, 2013, at the Alive Hospice Skyline Medical Center in Madison, Tenn., following a short illness.
She was born Aug. 17, 1926 in Wirt County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Othor and Ida Mae Phillips Flesher.
Iris moved to Tennessee in 1987 to be closer to her son and grandchildren. She had worked for the City of Lebanon for over 20 years and was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church where she had served as treasurer for several years.
Surviving are her grandchildren Amy Lynn McHenry (Benji), Nathaniel John McHenry (Rachel), great grandchildren Austin McHenry, Mary Kelton McHenry, all of Lebanon, Tenn., sister Dorothy Wolfe of Parkersburg, sister in law Margaret Flesher and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Iris was preceded in death by her husband Donald H. McHenry in 1985, son John H. McHenry, brother Othor Flesher, Jr., and three sisters Ina Keffer, Eileen Whited and Alverta Blackburn.
The funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg with Pastor Daniel Morikone officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. Friday prior to the service.
