Robert Dean "Bob" Stephens, 77, passed away Nov. 9, 2013, at Camden Clark Medical Center.
He was born Feb. 18, 1936, in Parkersburg, to the late Edward and Cora Stephens.
Robert served in the U.S. Army in Frankfurt, Germany, and retired from GE Plastics. He was a welder by trade. He was a member of Fairlawn Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Kathryn Stephens of Washington, W.Va., to whom he was married for almost 58 years. Bob and Kate were joined in marriage on Dec. 18, 1955. Also surviving are a daughter, Terri Richards (Steve) of Washington; brother, Michael Stephens (Geneva) of Washington; sister, Carolyn Stephens of Washington; grandson, Matthew Richards (Sara) of Salt Lake City, Utah; sister-in-law, Gloria Atkinson (Charlie) of Pasadena, Calif.; brother-in-law, Paul Conger (Sue) of Cincinnati, Ohio; nieces, Beth Cline (Randy), Kimberly Holapa (Paul), Jennifer Zalubil (Randy), Sheryl Carrithers and Angela Moscolina (Mark); and nephew, Michael Burk.
Also preceding him in death are nephew, Michael Lewis Stephens Jr.; sister-in-law, Roberta Burk; and brother-in-law, Chuck Burk.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Leavitt Funeral Home of Parkersburg, with Dr. David Dockery officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens with military honors.
