After reading the letters to the editor about domestic violence month in October and domestic violence in general, I have yet to see anything regarding violence toward men. I have seen numerous times where women would hit, kick, spit, scratch and use other violent actions toward their husbands and boyfriends, but nothing is done to protect these men. Where is the domestic violence shelters for them?
Also, I have noticed grant money is only provided to protect women. It is time people realize men can and are victims of domestic violence. When they have nowhere to turn for help, what can we expect of these men who feel they are completely whipped and can expect no help from anyone? Domestic violence is a problem for both men and women.
It is about time we treat both the same in this situation and quit assuming because of sexual disparity one is the abuser!
