PARKERSBURG - A former Wood County commissioner has been named the 2013 recipient of the William P.A. Nicely Award for Lifetime Achievement in Public Service, an award given to Republicans by the Wood County Republican Executive Committee.
Robert K. "Bob" Tebay will be honored at a dinner at 6 p.m. Nov. 22 at the Parkersburg Country Club.
The award is named after the late William P.A. Nicely, mayor of Parkersburg and a member of the West Virginia House of Delegates. The Nicely Award is given every two years and the last recipient of the title was Wood County Circuit Clerk Carole Jones in 2011.
A social hour will precede the buffet-style dinner at 7 p.m. Tickets are $50 each and reservations must be made by Nov. 18, GOP Chairman Greg Smith said.
