Sandra Sue Thompson, 67, of Kent, died Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013, under Hospice Care at Kent Healthcare Center.
She was born Feb. 18, 1946 in Detroit, Mich., to Robert and Myrle (Fox) Woodford.
Sandra was a spot welder at Chrysler Stamping Plant in Twinsburg, and was a member of UAW Local 122. Sandra loved to fish at Rice Lake in Canada, cross stitching, cooking and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, James Thompson; son, J.R. (Cindy) Thompson; granddaughters, Grace and Paige Thompson; mother, Myrle Woodford; brothers, Robert "Woody" and Tom "Tommy" (Nancy) Woodford; step-son, Rick (Trish) Thompson; step-daughter, Amy Thompson-Carchion; grandchildren, Kasena Thompson, Jesse Thompson, Brian Heard, Alicia Heard and Tiffany Marchion; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Woodford; and sister, Sherry Rhodes.
Calling hours will be held 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home in Kent, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov 7. Funeral services will also be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg. Burial will be held at Skidmore Cemetery.
