James “Woody” Wilson

James "Woody" Wilson, 87, of Parkersburg, died Thursday, Oct. 17, 2013, at The Arbors of Marietta.

He was born in Nashville, Tenn., a son of the late Henry and Mary Lucille Wilson.

He was an Electrician with I.B.E.W. Local 323 and attended Homeland Community Church. He was a United States Navy veteran having served in WW II.

He is survived by his wife, Mary (Walker) Wilson; four sons, Richard Wilson (Lynda) of Florida, Michael Wilson of Florida, Bill Gifford (Debbie) of Parkersburg, and Rick Gifford (Lori) of St. Marys, W.Va.; a daughter, Jamee Dalrymple (Dana) of Williamstown, W.Va.; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Dennis Wilson; and three sisters, Opal Anderson, Betty Burkholder and Cathy Waters. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Clarence Wilson; and a sister, Ceva Marie Hall.

A celebration of his life will be held 3 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 27, at the Leavitt Family Center. The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 27.
