David Hendricks, Sr., 66, of Holland, and formerly of Parkersburg, passed away peacefully on Oct. 12, 2013, surrounded by his loving family.
David was born in Parkersburg on Aug. 2, 1947, to Virgil and Ruby (Cox) Hendricks.
He graduated from Parkersburg H.S. and married his high school sweetheart, Dixie Johnson, on Feb. 18, 1967. A U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran, David is a member of the Holland American Legion Post #646 and worked many years for Ryder Truck Rental in Parkersburg before coming to Holland, where he later became a truck driver for Ace Hardware. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Surviving are his loving wife, Dixie; daughter, Michele Hendricks; son, David (Alison) Hendricks, Jr.; grandchildren, Paige and Kashton Hendricks; sister, Connie (Denver) Cline; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Daniel Hendricks.
In keeping with David's wishes, there will be no visitation and services will be private.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo location.
