BELPRE - Undefeated Trimble stayed that way Friday night, thoroughly dominating host Belpre 54-0 with Justice Jenkins rushing for 111 yards and two touchdowns and Austin Downs catching eight passes for 183 yards and three TDs.
In all, the Tomcats, now 8-0, rolled up 495 yards to just a measley 41 for Belpre, which fell to 3-5.
Trimble, ranked No. 2 in Division VII, Region 25, tallied two touchdowns in every quarter in a methodical effort that produced 242 yards on the ground and 253 through the air, the latter all by quarterback Konner Standley, who was 14-for-18 passing.
Meanwhile, the Golden Eagles never really ever got going on offense, winding up with only 26 yards rushing and 15 passing.
Belpre, though, did stifle the Tomcats at least thrice on fumble recoveries by Tavian Miller, Nathan Mason and Alex Fox.
But other than that, the game belonged pretty much totally to Trimble, scoring on its second and third possessions of the night.
Standley found Downs wide open at the Belpre 15 for a 34-yard scoring strike at 7:09 of the first quarter, then Jacob Koons banged a yard to paydirt with 16 seconds left in the period for a 14-0 lead,
Then after Miller, the Golden Eagles' signal-caller, picked up a first down on 4th-and-2 at the Tomcat 41, Jenkins picked off a Belpre pass at the Tomcat 15 at 8:44 of the second stanza to halt any further Belpre offensive progress.
By halftime, Trimble had increased its lead to 28-0 on a 15-yard scoring scramper up the middle by Jenkins at the 5:35 mark of the second and a three-yard TD toss from Standley to Downs with 24.2 seconds to go before intermission.
The second half just continued to be more of the same, four more Trimble TDs and nothing of any consequence from Belpre.
Standley hooked up with Downs on a 52-yard aerial TD at 10:12 of the third quarter and Koons took a middle screen pass from Standley 20 yards into the end zone at 1:23 of the third
In the final period, Jenkins ran in for six points from four yards out and Tristan Conway bulled seven stripes for the game's last points at 8:04.
