Gladys V. Kimball, 91, of McElroy Creek Road, Alma, departed this life Thursday, Oct. 17, 2013, in Liza's Place, Wheeling.
She was born Feb. 8, 1922 in Tyler County, a daughter of the late Joseph and Dorcas Thompson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Emory R. Kimball in 1998; a daughter, Dewilla Kimball; four grandchildren; two brothers, Ray and Wayne Thompson; and five sisters; Carlie Thompson, Evelyn Leasure, Olive Kester, Janie Kester and May Shimko. Gladys is survived by five sons, Borman Ray "Sy" Kimball, Alma, Marvin (Helen) Kimball, Alma, Charles Max "Chuck" (Debbie) Kimball, Alma, Joe (Janet) Kimball, Alma, and Mike (Darla) Kimball, Shirley; three daughters, Mable (William) Roberts, Alma, Ginger (Michael) Griffin, Alma, and Barbara Kay (David) Lemasters, Middlebourne; 20 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at Furbee Funeral Home, Route 18, Alma, Saturday, 2-8 p.m., where services will be held Sunday, 2 p.m., with Pastor Louise Baker officiating. Interment in Shirley Cemetery, Shirley, W.Va.
