Dr. Francis Christian Huber passed away at his home Oct. 6, 2013, after an extended illness.
He was born Jan. 12, 1929 in Nashville, Tenn., to Francis C. Huber, Sr. and Elizabeth Grable Huber.
Dr. Huber received a B.S. in Chemistry at Johns Hopkins University, an MS in Chemical Engineering at Bucknnell University, and an M.D. at the University of Tennessee. He was a board certified Anesthesiologist, the former President of Associate Anesthesiologists in Parkersburg, W.Va., and served as President of the WV Society of Anesthesiologists. He was a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists and a diplomat of the American Board of Anesthesiology.
Dr. Huber had a variety of interests including golf, tennis and flying. He was an avid accomplished woodworker and glass blower, and enjoyed playing bridge. He was a former member of the Parkersburg Country Club. Dr. Huber had a lifelong interest in arts and was a supporter of the West Virginia Symphony, the Southwest Florida Symphony Orchestra, The Birmingham Symphony, as well as multiple other charities.
Dr. Huber is survived by his wife, Judith A. Huber; sons, Jason Huber (Johnna) and David Huber (Lauren); and grandchildren, Mary Huber and twins, Samuel and Katherine Huber; daughters, Elizabeth Huber and Katherine Forrester Huber; and grandchildren, Victoria Forrester and Nicholas Forrester.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
