Edith M. Amos James, 91, of Parkersburg passed away Oct. 6, 2013.
She was born in Clarksburg, W.Va., the daughter of the late Cleveland E. and Lelah T. Moore Lynch.
She was a 1941 graduate of Parkersburg High School and a member of the Epworth United Methodist Church and The Order of the Eastern Star Lodge # 113. She was a Homemaker.
She is survived by her children, Stephen E. Amos of Beckley, W.Va., Donald R. Amos and Debbie of Fenwick, Mich., Ronald R. Amos and Mary of Elizabeth, W.Va., and Sue E. Burton and Rodney of Elizabeth, W.Va. Her grandchildren, Andrea Florence and Doug, Michael Burton, Jeremy Amos and Tanatha, Josh Amos and Leanna, Jacob Amos and JoAnn Lanier and Eddie. Her great grandchildren, Andrew and Kate Florence, Branson and Lincoln Amos, Dillon and Colton Amos and Lily Lanier. Her stepchildren, Jimmy James, Randy James and Sharon McKissic. Her granddog, Emma Roller.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Melvin E. Amos, in 1957 and her second husband, Ivan C. James in 1995. Two sisters, Mary L. Bowden and Tacy G. Harris.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg with Pastor James Burton officiating. Interment will be in the Limestone Cemetery. Visitation will be today from 3-9 p.m.
