Larry Keith Burns, 69, of St. Marys, W.Va., departed this life on Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013, at Parkersburg.
He was born June 19, 1944, the son of the late Charles F. and Agnes C. Nichols Burns.
Larry had been employed as a supervisor for the former Quaker State Refinery, St. Marys, W.Va., and Ormet, Ben's Run Plant. He was a United States Army Veteran, former member of the St. Marys City Council, St. Marys Elks Club, Fire Department and E.M.S. Instrumental in helping create the St. Marys Marina and was an avid hunter and loved to travel.
He is survived by brothers, Richard Burns (Elsa), Martinsburg, W.Va., Gerald Burns (Janice), St. Marys, W.Va.; sisters, Janet Cross (Clark), Strasburg, Va., Alice Hess (Larry), Cairo, W.Va.; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Margaret Day, Bessie Bailey, Barbara Burns and Nellie Rawson; brothers, Thomas, Charles Jr., John, George and Harold Burns.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Oct. 11, at the McCullough Funeral Home, Pennsboro, W.Va. at 1 p.m. Burial to follow in the St. Marys I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home, Thursday, Oct. 10, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. and from 9 a.m. until the hour of service on Friday.
