Eugene (Gene) E. Hall, 75, of Vienna, W.Va., passed away at his home on Oct. 3, 2013.
Eugene was born May 3, 1938, at the family home in Stanleyville, Ohio. He was the son of Clarence E. and Thelma Doan Hall, who preceded him in death.
Eugene recieved his early education at Stanleyville School and enjoyed attending the annual school reunions. He graduated from Marietta High School in 1956 and enlisted in the army in 1961, where he learned to be a dental technician. He practiced this profession until his retirement in 1998 when he moved to Vienna, where he was employed as a door greeter at the Vienna Wal-Mart for seven years. Eugene was an active member of Thirty Sixth Street Church of Christ, a charter member of Pioneer Antique Auto Club, and a member of the local antique tractor club.
Surviving him are his sister, Dorothy Hall Young of Bentonville, Ark.; and a brother, Jim Hall of Vienna. Also surviving him are his nieces, Janet Hall Thomas of Louisville, Ky., and Kathryn Young Wideman of Grapevine, Texas; and nephews, Alan Young of Bentonville, Ark., Anthony Young of Searcy, Ark., Michael Hall of Lancaster, Ohio, David Hall of Mt. Sterling, Ky., and Jon Hall of Little Hocking, Ohio. Also surviving are seven great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted by Mark Mason and Chris Mullins at Hadley Funeral Home Reno Chapel, 1021 Pike St., Marietta, OH 45750. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday. Burial to follow at East Lawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2-6 p.m. at the funeral home.
