Parkersburg police and fire officials survey a wrecked Jeep Grand Cherokee Monday morning on Dudley Avenue that was driven into a utility pole guy wire, causing the pole to snap and the vehicle to roll. No injuries were reported.
"She advised the steering wheel locked and she couldn't correct it," he said.
Young said James and a juvenile in the vehicle at the time were not injured.
James was cited for failure to maintain control of her vehicle, failure to produce an operator's license, no child restraint and no seat belt.
The incident closed down both lanes of Dudley Avenue in the 2600 block while crews cleared debris and repaired the pole.
