Mary Kathryn ‘Kate’ Ball

Mary Kathryn "Kate" Ball, 88, of Vienna, passed away Sept. 19, 2013, at Camden Clark Medical Center, St. Joseph's Campus.

She was born Aug. 12, 1925, in Wood County, a daughter of the late Francis Hobart and Louise Samuels Taylor.

She was a graduate of Belpre High School. In 1989, she retired from Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital where she worked as an LPN. She was a member of Family Fitness Center, the "Arthritis Club" and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of Beechwood Presbyterian Church, Clara Edna Chapter of the Eastern Star and Woodmen of the World.

Kate is survived by a son, Charles W. Ball Jr. of Guysville, Ohio; a sister, Barbara Winters of Vienna; her beloved dog, Shadow; three grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Ball; a daughter, Susanna K. Ball; two brothers, Edward J. and Francis H. Taylor; and a nephew, Richard Donovan Winters Jr.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave., Vienna, W.Va., with Pastor Rick Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen North Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
