Since painting the "bike lanes," I have yet to see any of them being used.
However I did have the scare of my life while picking up my grandchildren after school. Having picked up No. 1 at Criss school and No. 2 at Hamilton, I finally was able to turn left onto Fairview Avenue. Briefly, from the corner of my eye, I saw a bike rider on my left then - poof - he was gone! In a second, he was turning in front of me from between two moving vehicles. He did not even look at me. As I slammed on my brakes and laid on the horn, he pointed to the "bike" sign.
This occurred in front of PCHS. Such riders should be cited or taught how to look and heed the traffic.
