PARKERSBURG - A local attorney has written a book on benefits for veterans.
The release of "Getting the Veterans Benefits You Deserve" written by Jan Dils will be celebrated at an open house from noon until 2 p.m. Thursday at Dils' office, 963 Market St.
The first 200 visitors to attend will receive a free copy of the book. Residents also are encouraged to attend, enjoy the refreshments and ask questions to members of the Jan Dils, Attorneys at Law team about VA disability benefits.

"I wrote this book to be used as a comprehensive tool for any veteran seeking disability benefits," said Dils. "It lays out a step-by-step plan on how to prepare a claim, and even includes copies of required forms."
The book outlines the process from start to finish, Dils said.
It took about 18 months to write and design the book, which was published by Headline Books Inc. of Terra Alta, W.Va.
The book lays out the subject matter in an easy-to-follow manner and provides answers to most frequently asked questions.
Dils also wrote "Getting the Social Security Benefits You Deserve," which was published in October 2011.
Both books will be available at Thursday's open house.
