David Jay Lawrentz, 48, of Washington, W.Va., passed away Sept. 11, 2013, at his residence.
He was born Sept. 18, 1964, in Parkersburg, a son of the late James M. Lawrentz Jr. and Elizabeth Hudson Lawrentz.
David graduated from Parkersburg South High School with the class of 1982. David loved serving his country and served with the Army National Guard. David liked to hunt and fish, and his daughter, Hannah, was his greatest joy.
He is survived by one daughter, Hannah Renee Lawrentz of Belpre, Ohio; two brothers, James M. Lawrentz III and Gregory Scott Lawrentz (Alicia), both of Washington, W.Va.; one niece, Jamie Lawrentz; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St., south Parkersburg, with Pastor Randy Kochersperger presiding. Burial will follow at Evergreen North Cemetery, Parkersburg, with full military honors by American Legion Post 15 of Parkersburg. Visitation will be Tuesday at the funeral home from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.
