The Fort Frye Marching Cadets' 2013 marching and competition season has begun.
In addition to a weeklong band camp in Mineral Wells, the band had summer appearances in the Beverly-Waterford homecoming parade followed by a trip to Pennsylvania to participate in the annual Fall Fantasy Parade at Kennywood Park.
Its season continued with their first competition at Philo on Sept. 14 and performances at halftime of Fort Frye football games.
This year's show features music from The Beatles. Songs include "Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band," "Here Comes the Sun," and "Back in the USSR."
Featured soloists in the program are the group's lone senior member Nicole Lang on flute, Lauren Eckels on saxophone, Seth Curry on trombone and Dylan Richards, also on saxophone.
Adding a new look to its routine, the flag corps will feature rifles a part of the drill.
The Marching Cadets are under the direction of director Casey Mercer. Flag corps instructor is Tina Bohl.
Rifle instructor is Erica Perry.
The dance choreography was written by Rachel Worthington.
