Kelsey Renae Ray, 23, of Ripley, W.Va., passed away on Thursday evening, Sept. 12, 2013, after a single car accident.
Renae was born Aug. 23, 1990 in Parkersburg, W.Va., the daughter of Chad and Vanessa (McCormick) Ray of Ripley, W.Va.
Renae was a 2009 homeschool graduate and was formerly employed at Wal-Mart, NGK Spark Plugs, and as a child care provider. She enjoyed the outdoors, knitting, baking, reading and journaling. She enjoyed children, long rides on country roads, quiet time with friends and caring for her Gramps (McCormick).
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her brothers, Swanagan (Tai), Salathiel and Elijah Ray. She is also survived by her precious niece, Zooey, whom she loved dearly. Paternal grandparents are Raymond and Luana Ray and Carolyn and Bill Eakles. Maternal grandmother is Peggy McCormick. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Earl McCormick.
A memorial service will be held in celebration of Renae's life at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 15, in Jackson Hall at Cedar Lakes, Ripley, W.Va.
