Mary Margaret Welch, 87, of the Glenwood Retirement Community in Marietta, passed away Sept. 7, 2013, at Glenwood.
She was born Sept. 28, 1925 in Belpre, a daughter of the late Edgar Oliver and Estella Covey Jordan.
She was a 1943 graduate of Belpre High School and retired as a Branch Manager of the Bond Consultant Office with the Bureau of Public Debt. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Parkersburg and Chapter L of the P.E.O. Sisterhood.
Mary is survived by a step daughter Nancy Bryson of Attalla, Ala., a step son David E. Welch of Colorado Springs, Colo., and three nieces Catherine E. Mace and Dwayne of Little Hocking, Margaret Ann Boyer and David of Fleming, Carolyn Warden and Bob of Nashville, Tenn. and two nephews Robert Jordan and Laura of Cutler and Donald Jordan and Darlene of Athens, great nieces Elizabeth Ann Morris, Jessica Hanger, great nephews Jason Jordan, Bradford Boyer, one great great niece, one great great nephew and sister-in-law Betty Jordan of Cutler.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband George L. Friend, second husband Carlton E. Welch and a brother Edgar Earl Jordan.
Mary's family wishes to thank her caregivers Candi Parsons, Mary Ann Moyer and Amedisys Home Health and Hospice for all their care and attention to Mary's needs.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Glenwood Retirement Community with Rev. Michael Seely officiating.
