BELPRE - Construction crews on the Farson Street Widening Project will shut down portions of the water system serving the Farson Street area starting at 5 p.m. today.
The system will be depressurized to allow sections of the water main on Farson Street to be moved as part of the widening project. Water pressure will be restored as soon as possible.
The affected areas include Farson Street from Washington Boulevard north to Valleyview Drive, Hanvey Street, Norris Avenue, Bellview Street, Park View Street and Valley View Drive.

The Public Works Department has issued a boil water advisory for all customers served by the water main on Farson Street beginning at 5 p.m. today for the next 48 hours. Residents with health concerns or immuno-deficiency problems are advised to boil water used for cooking or other consumption for three minutes before consuming.
Residents of the affected areas may experience discolored water. If sediment in tap water appears, flush the largest cold water faucet in the building, usually a tub faucet, for five to 10 minutes.
