Richard Lee Ross, 66, of Pennsboro, W.Va., departed this life on Sept. 04, 2013, at his residence.
He was born March 7, 1947, in Pennsboro, the son of the late Richard Glenn and Eleanor Irene Lamm Ross.
Richard was a graduate of the former Pennsboro High School in 1965, where he was a member of the Future Farmers of America. He graduated from Mountain State College in 1969 with a degree in data processing. He was an employee of DuPont Washington Works for the last 44 years as a store clerk. He was a member of Beason United Methodist Church and enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.
Richard is survived by a son, Jeremy Ross, Pennsboro; a daughter, Misty Ross, Pennsboro; a brother, Steven Ross (Lisa), Williamstown, W.Va.; brother-in-law, David Henthorn, St. Marys, W.Va.; a niece, Lynnaya Ross; a nephew, Dustin Ross; in-laws, Edgar Hooper (Ann), the Dr. Rev. Larry Hooper, Carolyn Flanagan, Marilyn Cottrill (Lewis), Jim Hooper (Stephanie) and families; and two loyal companions, Butters and Tiny.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Karen Hooper Ross; sister, Nancey Henthorn; and in-laws, Michael Flanagan and Sandy Hooper.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at McCullough Funeral Home, Pennsboro, W.Va., with the Dr. Rev. Larry Hooper officiating. Burial will follow in Ellenboro Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home today from 4-8 p.m. and after 9 a.m. Monday on the day of the service.
