MARIETTA - The Network Alliance today will begin a free series of workshops about skills necessary to improve career opportunities in the Mid Ohio Valley.
The alliance is a collaboration between Washington State Community College, the Washington County Career Center-Adult Technical Training and WashingtonMorgan Community Action Programs.
Meetings are held 10 a.m. to noon every other Thursday at Washington State.
The schedule is:
Today: Job Market Outlook. Learn who is hiring in the area, where to look for jobs using Ohio Means Jobs and other resources and discover job training opportunities. Main Campus Room B102.
Sept. 19: Technology Workshop. David Scheimann of Washington State will demonstrate computer basics such as navigating the internet and setting up an email account. Main Campus Room B202.
Oct. 3: Job Interview Tool Kit. Covers the essentials needed such as resume writing, cover letters and interview techniques. Main Campus Room B102.
Oct. 17: The Human Resources Perspective and Working With Temporary Employment Agencies. Insights from human resources professionals from when they review applicants. Main Campus Room B102.
Oct. 31: Mock Interviews. A mock interview for immediate feedback on ways to improve interviewing skills. Campus Room B102.
