When she was first married she worked at the Viscose Plant. She was a charter member of the Pond Creek Fire Deptartment Ladies Auxiliary and the Jerrys Run One Room School Reunion. She was a faithful member of the Pond Creek Baptist Church and the Ladies Aid.

Mom and Dad began with a farm of broom sage and briers on Jerrys Run Road. After much hard work the two of them developed it into a profitable dairy farm.

While Dad worked the dairy Mom was always preparing food for the winter with freezing and a cellar full of canned goods. Mom sure cooked a lot of excellent meals for family and working farm hands. Mom enjoyed fishing and later in life a smaller garden.

Ava was the last of her siblings being preceded in death by Olga Hale, Robert Amos, lla Buffington, Heisel Amos and Darla Eaton.

Services will be Saturday 11 a.m. at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg with Pastor Lester Morgan officiating. Burial will be at Pond Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, 4-8 p.m.

Memorial donations may be made to the Ava and Doyle Hale Memorial Conservation Scholarship Fund at the Parkersburg Area Community Foundation, (PACF). P.O. Box 1762, Parkersburg, WV 26102.

We would like to thank the Willows Staff, especially the nurses' aides for their kindness and care.
