Carolyn Hendricks Barker and Jerry Cecil Watson were united in marriage July 20 at Calvary Memorial Church in Parkersburg. Pastor Robert Collins officiated the double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of the late Betty Hendricks Hall and the late William C. Hendricks Sr. She is the mother of Kevin S. Barker of Parkersburg and Amy R. Villers of Weston, W.Va. She has three grandchildren. She graduated from Parkersburg High School and West Virginia University at Parkersburg and retired as a registered nurse from Camden Clark Memorial Hospital in 2009.
The groom is the son of the late Paul C. and Mary Loy Watson of Parkersburg. He is the father of Brian Watson of Lubeck, Brent Watson and Janelle Schimke of Parkersburg. He has four grandchildren. He graduated from Parkersburg High School and retired from Shell Chemical as a supervisor in 1999.
The bride was escorted down the aisle by her brother, William C. Hendricks Jr. of Murraysville, W.Va., and was given in marriage by her children. She wore a turquoise tea-length dress with matching bolero jacket.
Shirley K. Hunt, friend of the bride, served as matron of honor. Gary Farnsworth, friend of the groom, served as best man. Angela Marshall was the pianist and soloist. Judy Townsend, friend of the bride, registered guests.
A buffet dinner reception was held in the family life center of Calvary Memorial Church following the ceremony.
After a honeymoon at Lake Cumberland, Ky., the couple reside in Parkersburg.
