James Ronald Burton, 91, of Vienna, passed away Monday, Aug. 19, 2013, at his home.
He was born Jan. 29, 1922 in Parkersburg, a son to the late Arle and Orie Burton.
He retired from DuPont after serving many years as a mechanic. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a member of the Marrtown Church of Christ.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty A. Burton, along with two brothers and a sister. He is survived by his children, Pamela L. McGinness of Vienna, Terri L. Horne of North Carolina and James P. Burton (Myra) of Knoxville, Tenn.; three granddaughters, Leslie A. (Steven) Rowland, Sara E. Burton and Rebecca H. Burton; two great-grandsons, Matthew and Nicholas Rowland; one brother, Andrew J. Burton of Montgomery, Ala.; along with many other extended family.
Graveside service will be Wednesday, Aug. 21, 11 a.m. at Hopewell Cemetery. Visitation will be today from 6-8 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Parkersburg.
