Lena Gilles Miller, 78, of Marietta, died Aug. 16, 2013, at her residence.
She was born June 9, 1935 in Webster County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Orville N. and Bird Hall Gilles. She was self-employed working with her late husband in Trucking, and also worked many years in retail. She was a member of 19th Street Church of God and was active in the Singles Group.
She is survived by her daughter, Constance Sue Carter of Vincent, Ohio; son, Roger D. (Debbie) Miller of Whipple, Ohio; two grandchildren, Savannah Sue Curtis and Brandi L. Miller; step-grandson, Jared S. Perry; great-grandchildren, Audra Sue Curtis and Judah Curtis; two brothers, Ronnie and Elmer Gilles, both of Webster Springs, W.Va.; and special friend, Dorothy Gilles of Webster Springs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Okey Miller, Jr.; infant brother, Dannel Gilles; four brothers, Wendell, Basil, Doyle and Bobbie Gilles; and two sisters, Ethel Golden and Dorothy Rogers.
Services will be Monday, 2:30 p.m. at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Chaplain Bob Sinnett officiating. Visitation will be Monday, 1:30- 2:30 p.m.at the funeral home.
