Carl E. “Bill” Maston

Carl E. "Bill" Maston, 88, of St. Marys, W.Va., Schultz Community, passed away Aug. 15, 2013, at his residence.

He was born May 18, 1925 in Schultz, Pleasants County, W.Va., a son of the late Bud and Fern Moore Maston.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, serving in Germany, and a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was a member of the Boilermakers Local Union # 667. His hobbies included woodworking.

He is survived by six children, Lois (Charles) Good, Green Bank, W.Va., Kevin (Beth) Maston, St. Marys, W.Va., Carla (Keith) Little, Mexia, Texas, Kelly Maston, St. Marys, W.Va., Angie Maston, Davisville, W.Va., and Kyle (Allison) Maston, St. Marys, W.Va.; five grandchildren, Whitney (Ryan) Fedak, Sam (April) Good, Caleb (Casey) Maston, and Sydney and Parker Maston; four great-grandchildren, Logan and Aydan Fedak, Zoe Good and Roe Maston; four sisters, Phyllis Sigler, Schultz, W.Va., Jane Huff, Belmont, W.Va., Leona Kelly, Paden City, W.Va., and Betty Maston, Schultz, W.Va.; one brother, Charles Maston, Wilson, N.C.; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; a very special nephew, Steve Locke; and caregivers, Martha Malone, Karen McBrayer, Connie Simmons and Brittany. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Riella C. "Kate" Maston on June 7, 2013; two infant children; and three brothers, Jerry Maston, Bud Maston and Paul Maston.

Graveside services will be held Monday, Aug. 19, at 11 a.m. at the Willow Island Cemetery, Willow Island, W.Va., with Pastor Richard Cale officiating. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Sunday at the Ingram Funeral Home, St. Marys, W.Va.
