Ronald A. Chipps, 54, of Parkersburg, W.Va., entered into heaven on Aug. 10, 2013, surrounded by his family at home.
He was born in Parkersburg, W.Va. on Nov. 20, 1958, a son of Cecil Chipps and Antoinette Chipps.
Ronald worked as a body man printing and building cars from the ground up. Ronald enjoyed riding motorcycles, fishing and painting cars, raising money for the ones in need, spending time with his family and friends and watching old war stories to try and catch a glimpse of his father.
He was preceded in death by father, brother and mother. Ronald is survived by his wife, Debra Hemingway Chipps, his four daughters, Christina Smith, Misty McIntyre, Shasta Chipps and Ronnie Chipps and her husband Kirk Mason; one son, Cecil Chipps; 10 grandchildren; one great-grand-child; and many nieces and nephews. Ronald's siblings include Paul Vengrin, David Knight, Richard Chipps, Rose Oswalt, Terry Oswalt, Raymond Chipps and Deana Chipps, whom he loved with all his heart.
Ronald was the back bone of his family. When we had problems or difficult choices we called him for his advice and he always had the right thing to say about the situation. He was never scared to try anything once, whatever it may be. He may not have been the most wealthy or the most popular person, but to his family he was the greatest husband, brother, grandpa and father that anyone could ask for. If he had it to give and you were in need he would give it to you, no questions.
Ronald belonged to a motorcycle club called Royal Knights, he was the president.
The viewing will be Monday, Aug. 19, at 1 p.m. at Leavitt Funeral Home of Parkersburg. He will be laid at rest at the Masonic Cemetery in Pennsboro, W.Va.
