Edith Ione Lewis, 90, of Parkersburg, passed away Monday, July 22, 2013, at the Eagle Pointe Nursing Facility.
She was born Feb. 22, 1923, in Richwood, W.Va., a daughter of the late Bailey and Sarah Alkire Roach.
Edith was a homemaker and was retired from Kmart. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She was a former member of the Christ United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her two children, Linda Fury and Diane Mercier (Mike), all of Parkersburg; a sister, Sharon Howerton of North Carolina; and three grandchildren, Charlie Fury of Fairfax, Va., Sarah Mercier of Columbus, Ohio, and Melody Mercier of Parkersburg; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles T. Lewis; son-in-law, Gary Fury; one brother, Lloyd Roach; and three sisters, Freda Young, Juanita Cook and Christine Roach.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Friday, July 26, at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 400 Green St., Parkersburg, with Pastor Marian Duvall officiating. Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
